The book's plot evolves from the murder of a scientist. He was killed because of a powerful discovery he made. I later continues with the murdered of four cardinals in Vatican City. The city itself is in danger because of the robbery of the scientific discovery forementioned. The main character of the book is a scientist from Harvard University named Robert Longdon. In the book he is who tries to decode the clues to prevent these killings, however he finds himself always one step behind the killer.

I really enjoyed this book because it is very intriguing and it relates a lot of history about Rome, The Vatican, Rome's churches, and a lot of interesting characters are part of the story like Galeno.
